Victor Boniface has started the season on a brilliant note yet again, leading Bayer Leverkusen to a stunning huge victory over Hoffenheim, bouncing back from a narrow defeat to RB Leipzig with an excellent performance.

The Super Eagles forward, known for his flair and finesse, put on a masterclass, scoring twice and providing an assist as Leverkusen crushed their host 4-1 on Saturday afternoon, Footballrover reports.

The Bundesliga matchday three clash saw Boniface making an immediate impact. Just 17 minutes into the game, his clever assist set up Martin Terrier’s opening goal.

A deft pass found Terrier, who calmly tapped the ball into an empty net, putting Leverkusen ahead.

The celebration was as much about Boniface’s vision as it was about Terrier’s finish, showing the chemistry that’s beginning to flourish within the squad.

But Boniface wasn’t done yet. By the 30th minute, he displayed his exceptional skill, manoeuvring through Hoffenheim’s defence with ease and scoring a sensational goal.

His agility and composure left the goalkeeper stranded, and Leverkusen was firmly in control.

Despite a spirited effort from Hoffenheim, including a 38th-minute goal that pulled them back into the game, Leverkusen headed into halftime with a 2-1 lead, thanks to Boniface’s contributions.

The second half saw more drama. A contentious penalty was awarded after a VAR review, and Florian Wirtz made no mistake from the spot, extending Leverkusen’s lead.

Six minutes later, Boniface added the final flourish.

In a move that highlighted his tenacity and finishing prowess, he scored his second goal of the match, sending the ball into the bottom corner with a clinical strike that left Hoffenheim’s keeper helpless.

This emphatic win is more than just three points for Leverkusen. It’s a statement of intent after their disappointing loss to Leipzig.

The team’s bounce-back performance, spearheaded by Boniface, has propelled them to fourth place in the Bundesliga, just a point behind the early toppers Dortmund.

With the UEFA Champions League group stage on the horizon, Leverkusen will carry this momentum into their upcoming clash against Feyenoord.
