The NPFL giants showed no mercy as they dismantled their opponents in a one-sided affair, securing their place in the final with a dominant performance, Footballrover reports.

Rivers United waste no time in dismantling Police Crime Busters

The Pride of Rivers, who received a bye in the previous round, faced a Police Crime Busters side that had earned their semi-final spot with a 3-0 win over Burna Boy Football Academy.

This encounter was obviously a rematch of the 2022 Rivers State FA Cup final, where Rivers United triumphed 3-1.

This time, they made sure there was no contest, snatching all guns and bullets from the Police men.

Emmanuel Nnaji set the ball rolling after 25 minutes of action, finishing clinically thanks to a brilliant through pass from David Benjamin.

Just seven minutes later, Timothy Zachariah weaved past the goalkeeper before setting up Ubong Friday for an easy chip into an empty net, doubling United’s lead.

The two-goal advantage at halftime didn’t slow down United. Sixteen minutes into the second half, they turned up the pressure.

Barely two minutes later, the NPFL side struck again. Abba Suileman, replicating his earlier brilliance, delivered another precise cross into the box, allowing Aniekeme to tap in his second goal of the game and seal the emphatic 4-0 win.

Finidi George

With this ruthless display, the Pride of Rivers sent a clear message to their upcoming opponents in the final.

The Finidi George side are on a mission, and if this performance is anything to go by, stopping them will be no easy task.

They will turn their focus to their league action, a clash with former NPFL champions Enyimba of Aba at the Elephant Park on Sunday.
