UD Tenerife forward, Rinsola Babajide, is filled with excitement following her inclusion in the Super Falcons squad for their upcoming international friendly against the French women’s national team, Les Bleues.
The match, which will take place at the Stade Raymond Kopa in Angers, France, promises to be a crucial test as the Super Falcons prepare for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, Footballrover reports.
Babajide, who has been in solid form for UD Tenerife this season, expressed her joy on social media, calling it an honor to represent Nigeria once again.
After missing out on the Paris 2024 Olympic squad and recent friendlies against Algeria, her return to the national team has left her in joyous mood.
Rinsola Babajide’s impact for the Super Falcons
The friendly against France will provide valuable preparation for the Super Falcons, who are coming off a dominant 2-0 and 4-1 victory over Algeria in their last two outings.
Interim head coach Justine Madugu has invited 20 players for the match, with several key figures returning to the squad, including Paris FC goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and defenders Osinachi Ohale and Ashleigh Plumptre.
Forwards Rinsola Babajide and Gift Monday, both representing UD Tenerife in Spain, have also earned spots in the squad.
Babajide’s recent performances for her club, including a goal in a tough 5-1 defeat to Barcelona Femení, also shows her growing confidence and readiness for international duty.
“Always an honour to be selected to represent my country,” she wrote.
With three goals in nine appearances this season, the 26-year-old will surely be eager to show off her form and secure a place in the Super Falcons’ lineup for the upcoming tournament.
