It was a heartbreaking outcome for defending champions Remo Stars, who fell narrowly to their hosts.

After a goalless first half, the Seasiders struck just seven minutes into the second period to turn the game on its head.

Chisom Orji delivered the decisive blow for Warri Wolves, a goal that proved enough to lift the Seasiders to ninth place on the table with 33 points, while Remo Stars slid down to 17th with 26 points.

The Ikenne-based side are now without a win in their last three matches, recording two defeats and a draw, while Warri Wolves returned to winning ways after their previous loss to Enugu Rangers.

Kwara United Sink Further After Kun Khalifat Defeat

It was a similar story for Kwara United when they took on struggling Kun Khalifat in Owerri.

The hosts’ captain, Chikamso Amaefula, scored the match-winning goal just seven minutes after the restart, after a goalless first half from both sides.

The narrow defeat saw Kwara United drop to 19th place on the table with 24 points, while Kun Khalifat, despite the victory, remain rooted at the bottom with 22 points.

This is a difficult moment for us. We have not scored a goal since the restart of the league in the second stanza. We’ve lost form & players to foreign trials, but we will surely strengthen the squad,” Kwara United head coach Ashifat Suleiman said.

The Harmony Boys are now without a win in their last four matches, suffering four consecutive defeats, while Kun Khalifat improved their recent run to one win and one draw.

Ikorodu City Stun Shooting Stars in South West Derby

While the Sky Blue Stars and their Ilorin counterparts were battling for survival, Shooting Stars failed to hit the target against Ikorodu City in a Southwest derby.

Once again, a narrow margin separated both sides at the final whistle. Joseph Anumala struck the decisive blow barely two minutes into the game, a goal that proved enough to hand the Oga Boys victory and a vital three points.

Even after raiding Ikorodu City and signing seven of their personnel, including players and staff, Shooting Stars have yet to secure a victory against their Southwestern rivals.

In other matches played on Thursday, Niger Tornadoes held Bayelsa United to a goalless draw, while the clash between Bendel Insurance and Barau FC also ended without a winner.
