It now seems like the future of Kano Pillars is in safe hands, according to their newly appointed head coach, Paul Offor.
Unveiled at the club’s secretariat on Friday, Offor signed a two-year contract to lead the four-time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions, Footballrover reports.
Fresh Start at Kano Pillars
Offor’s arrival brings an end to speculation surrounding the vacant coaching position at Kano Pillars.
Previously, the frontrunner, former Enyimba manager Usman Abdallah, had been passed over in favour of the promising young tactician.
Kano Pillars chairman Umar Babangida Little hailed Offor’s appointment, citing his experience and achievements in Nigerian football as key factors in the decision.
Umar Babangida expressed confidence in Offor’s ability to guide the team to victory in the upcoming season.
Embracing the Challenge
Offor himself radiated excitement about the new challenge.
Acknowledging Kano Pillars‘ prestigious standing within Nigerian football, he expressed his eagerness to contribute to the club’s illustrious history.
“I urge the fans to support us on this journey, and I promise to work tirelessly to make them proud,” Offor declared.
A Look Back: Building and Rebuilding
While Offor’s departure from Sporting Lagos in April stemmed from a string of disappointing results, it’s important to remember his instrumental role in securing their promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL) to the NPFL just two seasons ago.
Offor takes the reins from veteran coach Abdul Maikaba, who resigned towards the end of last season.
With a blend of experience and youthful passion, Kano Pillars fans can expect a new era under the leadership of Paul Offor.
