Referee Support & Club Grants: NPL’s IMC Enhances 2022/23 Season

As a significant step towards enhancing the league’s progress, the IMC ensured timely payments to the clubs and introduced measures to support referees and match officials.

In addition, the IMC remains committed to its vision of achieving a complete turnaround for the NPL, despite attempts to discredit its efforts.

Fulfillment of Financial Obligations:

The IMC has demonstrated its commitment to the clubs by fulfilling all financial obligations for the 2022/23 NPL season. Prior to the commencement of the season, the IMC disbursed a total of 200 million Naira, evenly distributed at 10 million Naira each to the 20 participating clubs.

This start-up grant aimed to alleviate the financial strain experienced by the clubs during the season’s early stages.

Timely Remittance of Prize Money:

League champions, Enyimba International, have been requested to provide their account details for the prompt remittance of the 100 million Naira prize money they earned by finishing at the top of the league.

The IMC is dedicated to ensuring that all clubs receive their deserved rewards promptly, reinforcing transparency and fairness within the league.

Combatting Misinformation and Distractions:

The IMC acknowledges the existence of attempts to undermine its progress through the spread of malicious insinuations by certain individuals and media agents.

Despite these efforts, the league management remains focused on its mission to rejuvenate and propel the NPL forward.

The committee refuses to be deterred by those seeking to impede the recent strides made in league management.

Improved Support for Referees and Match Officials:

Recognizing the pivotal role referees and match officials play in the success of any football league, the IMC took measures to enhance their support.

Referees and match officials were provided with increased indemnities, experiencing a 60 percent raise in their payments. Furthermore, their travel fares were elevated by 40 percent.

The IMC’s commitment to their welfare and security during matches was evident through swift actions taken to address any breach of security.
