Super Eagles winger Ibrahim Olawoyin lit up the Çaykur Didi Stadium with an excellent performance, scoring a goal and providing an assist against Gaziantep to lead Çaykur Rizespor to a crucial 2-0 victory in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday.
The 27-year-old delivered a Man of the Match display, showing composure, creativity, and pace when it mattered most, Footballrover reports.
His latest performance takes his season tally to ten goal contributions—four goals and six assists—a personal achievement that further strengthens his hopes for a Super Eagles recall.
Olawoyin’s magic unlocks Gaziantep’s defence
It wasn’t an easy afternoon for Rizespor. The first half was a tight tactical battle, with both sides struggling to find a breakthrough.
Gambian forward Ali Sowe twice thought he’d scored, but VAR denied him both times, keeping the score goalless at the break.
Despite Rizespor enjoying more of the ball, Gaziantep’s defensive line held firm.
Coach İlhan Palut responded by tweaking his setup in the second half, giving Ibrahim Olawoyin more freedom to operate in wide areas and stretch the opposition.

The breakthrough finally came in the 77th minute. A well-worked move saw Ibrahim Olawoyin whip in a perfect ball for Sowe, who slotted home to send the home fans wild.
But Olawoyin wasn’t done yet. As Gaziantep pushed forward in search of an equaliser, Rizespor hit them on the counter in stoppage time.
This time, Sowe turned provider, feeding Olawoyin, who coolly finished to seal the win.
It was a decisive moment in both the match and possibly in Olawoyin’s season.
With four games left and safety from relegation now secured—Rizespor sitting on 40 points in 14th place—the winger has proven himself a vital asset.
