The venue for this crucial round of 16 is the Estadio de la Bicentenario in San Juan, Argentina.

It was the same venue where the host recorded three wins in Group A of the championship against Uzbekistan (2-1) on Saturday, May 20, 2023; Guatemala (3-0) on Tuesday, May 23, 2023; and New Zealand (5-0) on Friday, May 26, 2023.

Three players, Alejo Veliz, Maximo Perrone, and Luka Romero, were the outstanding stars for the host in the group stage of the competition and obviously remain the players to watch out for later today.

Alejo Veliz scored in all three matches of the group stage.

He scored the first goal against Guatemala and an equalizer against Uzbekistan before Valentino Carboni gave the Argentines a 2-1 win at the end of the first half of the match.

Alejo Veliz also scored Argentina’s fifth goal in their 5-0 rout of New Zealand in their last group match, with an assist from Maximo Perrone.

Luka Romero and Maximo Perrone, respectively, scored Argentina’s second and third goals against Guatemala.

Luka Romero also scored the third goal with an assist on the second against New Zealand.

With three wins and nine points to qualify for the round of 16 against one of Africa’s best teams in the championship, the host is confident of overrunning the Ladan Bosso boys for the quarterfinals.

The Flying Eagles qualified for the round of 16 of the championship with six points after two wins against the Dominican Republic (2-1), Italy (3-2), and Brazil (2-0).

With the host’s record in the championship and their performance in the group, expectations are for an easy home victory for the host, but in football, nothing is impossible, as the Flying Eagles may end up shocking the world.

Meanwhile, United States of America, and Israel yesterday picked the first two quarter-final slots of the championship.

USA defeated New Zealand 4-0, while Israel ran away with a slim 1-0 victory against Uzbekistan.
