Former NPFL champion – Egbuchulam Chisom is one Nigerian player to watch out for this season following his five goals performance for his club during their cup game against Shijiazhuang Gongfu on Wednesday.
In their Chinese FA Cup match at the Jiangning Football Training Base Field No.2, Egbuchulam Chisom scored five goals to lead Meizhou Hakka to a spectacular 6-2 victory.
The Meizhou Hakka striker, who scored four goals in the first half and another in the second, was named player of the match. Yihu Yang also scored to complete the rout on the road.
The Nigerian forward got things going early and scored just 14 minutes into the match. Three minutes later, the striker scored another incredible goal to increase his game tally.
The visitors led by two goals at the end of the first half and carried that momentum into the second period when Chinese defender – Yihu Yang made it 3-0.
Four minutes later, the 30-year-old Nigerian scored his third goal of the match, demonstrating that he was undoubtedly in the greatest shape of his life. 71 minutes on the clock, he grabbed his fourth goal.
In the 73rd minute, Hao Zhang was able to restore parity for the home team, and six minutes later, Alexsandro dos Santos added another goal to make the score 5-2.
The home crowd was expecting for a swift comeback to tie the game, but as time ticked down to stoppage time, Egbuchulam Chisom scored his fifth goal of the contest to secure the victory.
The former Rangers International forward couldn’t hide his happiness as he turned to Twitter after the game to rejoice with his supporters and well wishers after scoring five goals, winning the match ball, and receiving the MOTM award.
