Super Eagles interim coach Austin Eguavoen has unveiled the 23-man squad for Nigeria’s upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Libya with Sevilla star man Chidera Ejuke making a suprise return.
With two crucial matches on the horizon, Nigeria will face off in the first leg in Uyo, followed by a return leg in Benghazi, Footballrover reports.
The squad announcement comes amid notable absences, with top scorer Victor Osimhen ruled out due to injury.
Orlando Pirates’ defender Olisa Ndah is also sidelined, further weakening Nigeria’s defence options.
Despite these challenges, there’s a silver lining with the return of winger Chidera Ejuke, who re-enters the national team setup after a two-year hiatus.
Known for his lightning-fast pace and dazzling dribbling skills, Ejuke offers a fresh attacking threat and could prove to be a crucial asset.

Chidera Ejuke, who last played for Nigeria in 2021, is expected to bring creativity and depth to the Super Eagles’ flanks.
His recall comes at a critical moment as Nigeria pushes to solidify its position in the AFCON qualifiers.
Joining him is defender Bright Osayi-Samuel, who missed the last international window but now returns to the fold, adding experience and energy to the backline.
