The pitch will surely be ready for a thrilling Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) showdown as the Nigerian international throws down the gauntlet ahead of the high-stakes clash, Footballrover reports.

The experienced forward has made it clear—his team is coming for all three points when they visit the Onikan Stadium on Sunday.

With both teams securing wins in their last outings, this encounter promises to be a fierce battle.

Brown Ideye’s bold message to Ikorodu City fans

The buildup to this encounter took an exciting turn when Brown Ideye responded to a tweet by renowned photojournalist Adepoju Tobi Samuel about ticket sales for the much-anticipated fixture.

The Enyimba forward wasted no time sending a direct message to Ikorodu City fans.

We’re coming to your stadium Sunday to pick 3 points, just to let you know,” Ideye declared confidently.

His statement, punctuated by a smile emoji, instantly sparked reactions among NPFL fans, with many eager to see if the former champions can deliver on his promise.

The last meeting between both teams in October 2024 ended in a 2-1 victory for Enyimba at the Elephant Park, and Ideye is determined to repeat that success.

Can Aba giants overcome their goal-scoring woes?

Despite Ideye’s confidence, Enyimba might have a slight concern going into this fixture.

Their head coach, Stanley Eguma, has voiced frustration over his team’s lack of cutting edge in front of goal.

It’s a thing of worry. At this point, goals will really give us hope and motivation. One good thing is that we are creating chances, which means our drills and tactics are working. But now, the issue is conversion. The conversion rate has to increase so we can put away our chances,” Eguma said as quoted by BSN Sports.

While Enyimba narrowly edged out El-Kanemi Warriors 1-0 in their last match, Ikorodu City are also brimming with confidence after sharing same success story over Lobi Stars.

With both teams coming in with momentum, the pressure will be on People’s Elephant to make their chances count.

Will Brown Ideye’s words come to pass, or will the Oga Boys stand their ground and defend their home turf?

The answer will unfold under the bright lights of the Onikan Stadium on this weekend.
