Deportivo La Coruña secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Real Betis in their Liga F clash on Sunday, marking a winning debut for Super Falcons star Blessing Nkor.

Although her playing time was limited, the Nigerian international contributed her bit to the team’s much-needed win on the road, Footballrover reports.

Deportivo La Coruña entered the fixture eager to build on their recent victory over Levante, having suffered back-to-back defeats against Real Sociedad and UD Tenerife.

The first half saw both sides locked in a tense battle, with no clear chances to separate them before the break.

However, Deportivo found their breakthrough early in the second half when Paula Gutiérrez netted just two minutes after the restart.

Ainhoa Marín doubled the lead ten minutes later, effectively sealing the contest and leaving Real Betis struggling to respond.

Blessing Nkor was introduced in the 87th minute, replacing Ainhoa Marin, as Deportivo comfortably saw out the match to claim all three points.

Despite her short time on the pitch, the Nigerian forward made her presence felt and will be eager to secure more playing time in upcoming fixtures.

It’s a well-earned victory for Deportivo, as the Galicians dominated the match and could have secured an even larger margin.

This marks their first consecutive wins of the season, extending their lead over the relegation zone to five points.

The win propelled Deportivo La Coruña to 15th place in the standings, level on points (15) with 14th-placed Real Betis.
