After a 4-2 victory at Camp Nou on Sunday, Barcelona unbeaten record over Atletico Madrid in the league has been extended to 16 games.
Atletico Madrid got off to a flying start, scoring an early goal through Yannick Carrasco just eight minutes into the game.
Before Jordi Alba, Gavi, and Araujo all scored in the first half, Xavi’s side had all but sealed the victory.
Early in the second half, Dani Alves increased Barca’s lead before Luis Suarez managed to pull one back for the visitors to make the scoreline 4-2.

The hosts’ day was however, threatened to be ruined when Alves was sent off for a harsh challenge, but they rallied to beat a depleted Atleti.
With the win, Barcelona unseats Atletico Madrid into fourth place in LaLiga. They are now two points ahead of the champs.
They may have slowed down in the second half, but they still managed to score with all four shots on target.
That’s how decisive they need to be to stay in the top four, and it’s something Diego Simeone’s team is lacking right now.

For the time being, Barcelona has pushed their way back into the Champions League positions, while Atletico’s nine-year run in the competition is in jeopardy.
They definitely need to channel their inner Simeone.
