Bamidele Yusuf is proving unstoppable at the start of the 2025/26 season. The in-form Nigerian forward once again delivered a match-winning performance, scoring and assisting as FK Vojvodina battled to a hard-fought 2-1 away victory over OFK Beograd in the Serbia Superliga on Saturday.

His consistency, coupled with other standout displays from Nigerian stars abroad, made it a weekend to remember for fans tracking their heroes across the globe, Footballrover reports.
Bamidele Yusuf Inspires FK Vojvodina to Victory
The 24-year-old Nigerian star wasted no time making his mark, breaking the deadlock in the 28th minute with a well-taken spot kick.
However, the lead lasted just seven minutes before Ghanaian forward Henry Addo equalised for the hosts.
Aleksa Vukanovic thought he had restored FK Vojvodina’s lead before halftime, but his strike was ruled out for handball in the buildup.

Seven minutes into the second half, Vukanovic finally got his goal—this time assisted by Yusuf—to put the visitors ahead for good.
It was a mixed night for Addo, who went from hero to zero after receiving a straight red card, reducing OFK Beograd to ten men.
Despite the numerical advantage, Vojvodina couldn’t extend their lead, and the match ended 2-1.
Yusuf has now scored twice in his last three games, taking his tally to three goal contributions (two goals and one assist) in just three appearances this season.
Last season, he netted 15 goals and provided four assists in 34 matches, and he is already on track to surpass that tally.
Other Nigerian Stars Abroad Shine Across Leagues
While Yusuf stole headlines in Serbia, several other Nigerian players abroad also delivered key performances this weekend:
Salim Fago Lawal opened the scoring in the 47th minute for NK Istra in their 2-2 home draw against NK Lokomotiva in the Croatia HNL.
Jonathan Okoronkwo played the full 90 minutes and provided an assist in Hatayspor’s 3-1 home defeat to Keciorengucu in the Turkey Super Lig.

Babatunde Akinsola also registered an assist, playing the full match in AFS’s 3-1 away defeat to Arouca in Portugal Liga 1.
Michael Adedokun sealed a 2-0 victory for Lexington with his 79th-minute goal against Phoenix Rising in the USA USL Championship.
Kingsley Iheme came off the bench to score a dramatic 90th-minute equaliser for FK Slovan Duso in their 2-2 away draw with Prievidza in Slovakia 3 Liga.
It’s well obvious that Nigerian stars abroad can’t stop making their mark in key moments for their clubs.
But leading the charge this week is Bamidele Yusuf, whose sharp form and decisive contributions are making him one of the most reliable forwards in Europe right now.
