Ifeanyi Mathew has officially signed a two-year contract with FC Zurich, the former Swiss champions, after joining on a free transfer.
The Nigerian joins FC Zurich from Norwegian side – Lillestrom Sk and he will remain with the club through the summer of 2025.
He spent over 6 seasons in Norway at Lillestrøm where he was part-time captain and now a promising addition for FC Zurich.
Ifeanyi Mathew, a tenacious defensive midfielder, will try to give FC Zurich’s midfield more toughness and strength as the team, led by Bo Henriksen, looks to avoid relegation just over a year after winning their 13th league title.
In the current standings of the ten-team league, FC Zurich is tied for last place with FC Winterthur in terms of points.
