The Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL), is looking set to embark on a short break ahead of 2023 general elections in the country.
NPFL Clubs are expected to go for a mid-season break after Matchday 9 (this weekend), to resume the weekend after elections.
All NPFL clubs will resume on the 25th of March with Matchday 10.
Players of various clubs in the league have been urged be of good behavior during this period of break and most importantly, get their PVCs and vote their candidate.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Women Football League have also announced a two-week break after the NWFL Premiership Matchday 9 due to the presidential and governorship elections holding across the country.
This was announced by the NWFL on their official Twitter page on Friday, adding that Matchday 10 and 11 will now hold on March 1 and March 15 respectively.
The full statement reads;
“The NWFL wishes to announce a two-week break after the #NWFLPremiership Matchday 9 due to the presidential and governorship elections holding across the country. For this, MD 10 and 11 will now hold on March 1 and March 15 respectively.”
