Paul Onuachu scores and assists to extend stunning form

Paul Onuachu has now scored in seven consecutive matches, finding the net against Karagümrük, Gaziantep, Fenerbahçe, Fethiyespor, Antalyaspor, and Kasımpaşa, in addition to netting a brace against Samsunspor.

In the Round 24 clash, the 31-year-old forward registered his 18th Süper Lig goal of the season, taking his overall tally to 21 goal contributions — with two assists in the league and one goal in the Turkish Cup.

The Nigerian international remains the league’s top scorer and has extended his lead to two goals ahead of second-placed Eldor Shomurodov of Başakşehir.

The hosts started off brightly, and it was Onuachu who put them ahead just before the 20-minute mark. The striker powered home a header after meeting a pinpoint cross from Ozan Tufan on the right wing.

While Onuachu delivered another standout display, his compatriot Chibuike Nwaiwu also impressed with a brace.

Just two minutes into the second half, the 22-year-old defender opened his account for the Black Sea Storm, scoring with a flying header from a corner to restore his side’s lead.

Nwaiwu, who completed a €5.5 million move to the Süper Lig side — becoming Wolfsberger AC’s record sale — signed a four-and-a-half-year deal and later doubled the advantage.

He nodded in from close range after Onuachu’s header back across goal from another corner to make it 3-1.

The defender has now taken his goal contribution tally to three, having also provided an assist.

While Onuachu played the full 90 minutes, he recorded the fewest touches (33) of any outfield player who completed the match.

Meanwhile, Nwaiwu was substituted after 73 minutes, making way for Mathias Lovik.
