Super Falcons forward Rinsola Babajide over the weekend stunned the crowd at Estadi Johan Cruyff, giving UD Tenerife a surprising early lead over Barcelona.

Babajide scored just two minutes into the match on Sunday, capitalising on a perfectly timed pass from Mari Jose, leaving the defending European champions momentarily stunned, Footballrover reports.

However, Barcelona quickly regrouped, and what followed was a demonstration of their dominance in Liga F.

Despite the early setback, Barcelona wasted no time equalising, with Irene Paredes unleashing a powerful strike from outside the box in the 37th minute.

Her perfectly placed shot found the bottom corner, giving Tenerife’s goalkeeper, Echezarreta Fernandez, no chance.

Just three minutes later, Barcelona took the lead through Ewa Pajor, who tapped in after a series of swift passes cut through Tenerife’s defence.

By the time the first half ended, the momentum had firmly shifted in Barcelona’s favour.

A penalty from Graham Hansen in the 42nd minute doubled their advantage. The second half saw continued Barcelona dominance, with Claudia Pina scoring their fourth goal in the 60th minute.

Esmee Brugts capped off the scoring in the 77th minute, securing a comprehensive 5-1 victory for the Catalan giants.

Although Tenerife were thoroughly outclassed, Rinsola Babajide’s performance remained a bright spot.

The Super Falcons forward continued to display her skills and determination before being substituted in the second half.

Babajide has been a key player for Tenerife this season, with three goals and one assist in nine league appearances.

Barcelona, now with a perfect record, sit comfortably atop Liga F with 33 points from 11 matches, while UD Tenerife remains in seventh place with 16 points.
