The Nigeria National League (NNL) has issued a stern warning to clubs participating in the upcoming Super Eight playoff tournament, advising them against registering new players for the competition.
This warning was given by NNL Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Ayo Abdulrahman, during the draw ceremony on Wednesday, Footballrover reports.
Abdulrahman emphasised that clubs should submit their team lists by May 22, 2024, comprising players already registered for the 2024 season.
He stressed that registering new players for the Super Eight playoff is not acceptable and urged clubs to erase such thoughts from their minds.
The NNL COO reminded clubs that the 2023–24 season’s first round has been completed, with two transfer windows already provided—one at the beginning and another during the mid-season.
He made it clear that any requests for registration, either before or during the competition, would be rejected due to their unethical nature.
The NNL Super Eight playoff tournament is scheduled to take place from June 7th to 14th, 2024, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
Recall that the Footballrover reported that the fixtures for the NNL Super 8 promotion playoffs have been confirmed.
Top clubs from the North and South conferences will face each other for the title of NNL24 Champion and NPFL promotion.
Conference schedules for the North and South have been released.
