The forward made a huge impact in the first half of the game and was in action for just 45 minutes before being replaced by Giulia Galli.

Roma also put their setback against Sporting in the Champions League behind them and went on to top Group C in Round 3 of the Serie A Women’s Cup.

Babajide handed the Giallorossi the lead barely 21 minutes into the encounter, before Giada Greggi doubled the advantage deep into first-half stoppage time. Roma went into the break with a 2-0 lead.

After the restart, both sides played a more cautious game before Alayah Pilgrim sealed the result with the third goal in the 87th minute.

Babajide’s Breakthrough Leads Roma to Final Four

The Giallorosse have now recorded three wins out of three, securing their place in the semi-finals of the newly formed competition.

The three goals were all Babajide and her teammates needed to reach the next stage of the tournament, and they achieved it convincingly.

Speaking to club media after the game, head coach Luca Rossettini praised the team’s effort:

— “Yes, they played a good game. They wanted to bounce back after Thursday’s result. That’s what we were all counting on.

The girls put in effort and desire, and the performance was what mattered most to us, regardless of the result. That was a goal, but we needed a performance to get going again straight away today against Sassuolo, which would give us confidence for the return match against Sporting: we have a task to accomplish.”

Meanwhile, Rinsola Babajide is gradually pulling her weight in the team and proving her worth since moving from Costa Adeje Tenerife, in Spain, to Serie A.

With momentum on their side, AS Roma will now prepare for the second leg of the Women’s Champions League qualification against Sporting Ladies on Wednesday.
