Paul Onuachu once again proved decisive for Trabzonspor as he scored his third goal of the season to secure a 1–1 draw against Gaziantep in the Turkish Süper Lig.
The Nigerian striker’s equaliser came in style, thanks to a spectacular 60-yard assist from Manchester United loanee André Onana, Footballrover reports.
Paul Onuachu and Onana Combine for Stunning Equaliser
The moment lit up a tense clash in Trabzon, where the home side battled hard but were left frustrated by the resilient display from their visitors.
The Hawks silenced the home fans in the 39th minute when Kévin Rodrigues finished off a slick team move to hand the visitors a shock lead.
The Black Sea Storm, despite dominating possession, struggled to carve out clear chances before the break and went into halftime chasing the game.
The breakthrough came in the 70th minute. Onana, calm under little pressure in his own half, spotted Onuachu peeling off the Gaziantep defence.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper launched a precise 60-yard ball, which Onuachu controlled with strength and composure before lobbing over the onrushing goalkeeper.
The equaliser sparked life into The Black Sea Storm’s attack and showed the chemistry between the two African stars.
Trabzonspor Push Late but The Hawks Hold Firm
Buoyed by the goal, The Black Sea Storm pressed hard for a winner. Oleksandr Zubkov and Enis Bardhi both came close, testing The Hawks’s goalkeeper and defence in the closing stages.
However, the visitors held their ground with disciplined defending and sharp saves, denying Abdullah Avcı’s side all three points.
The result leaves Trabzonspor frustrated, as they drop home points for the second time this season.
For the away side, the draw represents a hard-earned reward for their discipline and organisation on the road.
