Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu continued his red-hot form, scoring again to help Trabzonspor secure a hard-fought 2-1 win over Çaykur Rizespor in Saturday’s Turkish Süper Lig clash at the Çaykur Didi Stadyumu.
The 31-year-old forward struck in the 19th minute to double Trabzonspor’s lead, heading home a pinpoint cross from Christ Inao Oulaï, Footballrover reports.

Despite recording just 44 touches — the fewest among players who completed 90 minutes — and losing 10 duels, Onuachu’s efficiency proved decisive once again.
Trabzonspor began on the front foot, pressing high and forcing Rizespor into early mistakes.
Their intensity paid off almost instantly when Felipe Augusto opened the scoring in the 2nd minute after a sharp attacking move from the right flank.
Barely 15 minutes later, Onuachu rose highest to meet another delivery from the wing, guiding a powerful header past Gökhan Akhkan to make it 2-0.
Rizespor eventually responded in the 27th minute through Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, whose close-range finish halved the deficit.
Despite sustained late pressure and a series of corners in stoppage time, Trabzonspor defended resolutely, showing maturity and composure to hold on for three vital points in the Black Sea Derby.
Onuachu’s Remarkable Scoring Streak
The Nigerian international has now scored in four consecutive matches — finding the net in a 1-1 draw with Gaziantep FK, bagging a brace in the 4-3 win over Karagümrük, and registering a goal and assist in the 4-0 rout of Kayserispor.
Onuachu now boasts seven goals and one assist in nine appearances this season.
His sharp movement, aerial dominance, and composure continue to make him the team’s most potent weapon.
With this result, the Black Sea Storm extended their unbeaten streak to four matches (three wins, one draw) and remain second in the Süper Lig table with 20 points.
They will look to carry this momentum into next week’s clash with Eyüpspor, as Onuachu aims to keep his scoring streak alive and strengthen their title charge.
