Super Eagles forward Paul Onuachu continued his impressive form this season, scoring a brace to inspire Trabzonspor to a well-deserved away victory over Samsunspor in their Turkish Super Lig Round 21 clash on Saturday evening.

The Nigerian international found the net in both halves as Trabzonspor secured a 3-0 win at the Samsun Yeni 19 Mayıs Stadyumu, Footballrover reports.

Paul Onuachu Extends Scoring Streak to Five Consecutive Games

The two goals took Onuachu’s tally to 16 for the season, bringing his total goal contributions to 17, with 15 goals and one assist in the Super Lig, and one goal in the Turkish Cup.

With this performance, the 31-year-old forward has also extended his scoring run to five consecutive matches.

It took the Nigerian just 23 minutes to put Trabzonspor in front. Ernest Muci delivered a brilliant cross that met Onuachu, who powered a header into the top corner of the net.

That goal was all that separated the sides at halftime. Just ten minutes into the second half, Onuachu appeared to double the lead, but the effort was ruled out for a foul in the buildup.

However, he was not to be denied. With just nine minutes remaining, Onuachu finally completed his brace.

He arrived inside the box to meet Umut Nayır’s pass and calmly tapped it past the goalkeeper, doubling the lead—and that could have been his hat-trick.

Seven minutes later, the Black Sea Storm hero, who also lost the most duels in the match (9), was substituted for Okay Yokuşlu, and the score remained unchanged.

And to think it’s game over, Ernest Muci scores from the spot to hand the away side a 3-0 win.

Despite the victory, Onuachu and his teammates remain in third place on the table with 45 points.
