NPL Clubs Directed to License for New Season, Transfer Window Update

The league is scheduled to kick off on the weekend of August 26-27, and in accordance with the CAF Club Licensing Regulations 2022, participating clubs that have qualified for the CAF Club competitions have been invited to begin the necessary procedures with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The Interim Management Committee (IMC) recently submitted the season’s report to the NFF, prompting the call for clubs to commence their licensing procedures.

It has been emphasized that only licensed clubs will be eligible for registration in the upcoming season.

To ensure a smooth process, the league organizers have urged all participating clubs to complete the licensing procedure promptly, taking advantage of the available time before the season commences.

To obtain further information and guidance on the club licensing procedure, clubs have been instructed to contact the NFF Licensing Managers, Mr. Nasiru Jibril and Queen U Otarakpo.

They will provide clubs with the necessary details and support throughout the licensing process.

In addition to the licensing announcement, it has been revealed that the NPL transfer window will officially open on Saturday, July 1, and run until September 1, 2023.

This period will allow clubs to engage in player transfers and strengthen their squads ahead of the new season.

The clubs that have earned the opportunity to represent Nigeria in the CAF Club competitions have also been announced.

Enyimba International and Remo Stars have qualified for the CAF Champions League, while Rivers United and Bendel Insurance will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.

As the NPL gears up for another thrilling season, clubs will be looking to prioritize the licensing procedure to ensure compliance with the CAF Club Licensing Regulations.

The upcoming transfer window further provides an opportunity for teams to make strategic signings and bolster their squads for the challenges that lie ahead.
