Over the weekend, Chinedu found the back of the net to help Astana beat Zhetysu Taldykorgan 2-0 at the Žetisu Stadion, Footballrover reports.
The win means Astana remain unbeaten in their last seven games — a run powered by six wins and a draw.
Chinedu, named MVP of the match after this Round 15 clash, broke his seven-game goal drought in style.
He picked up a yellow card just 16 minutes in but stayed sharp and focused.
In the dying moments of the first half, Nazmi Gripshi opened the scoring for Astana to calm early nerves.
The visitors carried their slim lead into the break, but the second half brought more action.

Fifteen minutes after the restart, Marin Tomasov thought he had doubled the lead after assisting the opener — but his goal was ruled out for a foul in the build-up.
Just eight minutes later, Gripshi turned provider again, this time setting up Geoffrey Chinedu on a counter for the crucial second goal that sealed all three points for Astana.
The Nigerian marked his goal celebration with a tribute to late Liverpool star Diogo Jota, who passed away in a.terrible car accident.
Chinedu’s goal takes his season tally to five goals and one assist in 16 appearances — a return to form the club will cherish.
The 27-year-old Nigerian forward played 79 minutes before making way for Ramazan Karimov.
With the win, Astana now sit top of the table with 37 points, one clear of Kairat Almaty. They will next prepare for a key clash against Ordabasy on July 13.
