Chinwendu Ihezuo delivered a dazzling performance on Wednesday evening, striking three times to lead Pachuca Women to a commanding 5-0 victory over Alajuelense in the 2025 CONCACAF Women’s Champions Cup at the Estadio Miguel Hidalgo.
The Super Falcons forward scored all three of Pachuca’s first-half goals, completing her hat-trick in just 29 minutes to spark a dominant display that put her side back on track after a narrow 1-0 loss to CF América in their previous group-stage outing.
Chinwendu Ihezuo’s Quick-Fire Hat-Trick Lifts Pachuca
Ihezuo opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a precise left-footed finish, latching onto a well-timed pass from Spanish defender Andrea Pereira.
She doubled the advantage in the 25th minute with a towering header from Charlyn Corral’s cross, before completing her hat-trick in the 39th minute with another header, this time from an Ayooluwa Oke delivery.
The 28-year-old, who now has four goals in the competition and eight overall this season, played 64 minutes before making way for Paola García.
Pachuca maintained their momentum after the break, with substitute Natalia Mauleón adding the fourth in the 65th minute and García sealing the emphatic win just four minutes later.
Pachuca Dominate to Keep Semifinal Hopes Alive
Ihezuo’s inspired display earned her the Player of the Match award and lifted her team to six points in Group A, setting up a decisive final group-stage clash against Orlando Pride for a place in the semifinals alongside América Femenil.
Before that crucial encounter, Ihezuo and her teammates will return to domestic action against Atlético de San Luis in the Liga MX Femenil Apertura on Monday.
The victory extended their unbeaten run to three matches across all competitions, with four wins and a draw.
