Super Falcons star Jennifer Echegini has started the new season on a bright note, grabbing a goal to inspire Paris Saint-Germain to a high-scoring victory during their preseason game against Ajax Women.

Echegini opened the scoring as PSG Women crushed their Dutch opponents 6-0 at the PSG Campus, showing early signs of form ahead of the new campaign, Footballrover reports.

The WAFCON 2024 winner has finally settled into the PSG squad and she’s beginning to deliver consistently.

Paris Saint-Germain’s women’s side produced a dazzling attacking display in their friendly clash against the Ajax ladies, cruising to a 6-0 win that looked more like a statement of intent than a simple tune-up match.

The tone was set early when Jennifer Echegini broke the deadlock in the 11th minute with a sharp finish. From there, it was all PSG.

Romee Leuchter doubled the lead in the 23rd minute, before Merveille Kanjinga struck twice in quick succession—first in the 24th and then just before the interval—to give the French side a commanding 4-0 advantage by half-time.

After the break, PSG Women continued their dominance. Leuchter grabbed her second of the game in the 65th minute, showcasing her striker’s instinct.

Substitute Anais Ebayilin then rounded off the rout with an 84th-minute strike, sealing an emphatic 6-0 scoreline.

Ajax ladies never found a foothold, overwhelmed by PSG’s pace, precision, and relentless hunger.

For the French side, this was the perfect warm-up—goals flowing, confidence soaring, and a reminder that they mean business this season.

Echegini Ready for a Strong Second Season

After registering 11 goal contributions—seven goals and four assists in 18 appearances for PSG Women in her debut season—the 24-year-old midfielder will now be aiming for a flying second campaign with the French side.

Before joining Paris Saint-Germain, the Nigerian midfielder impressed at Juventus, where she scored ten goals and provided one assist in just 14 appearances.
