Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi has taken a major step in his career by completing a record-breaking transfer to Italian Serie A side Pisa SC.
The move, confirmed on the club’s social media channels, marks a historic signing for the club, Footballrover reports.
Rafiu Durosinmi’s Rise: From Czech Success to Serie A Spotlight
The 23-year-old forward joined Pisa from Czech champions Viktoria Plzen, where he spent two seasons and scored 13 goals in 32 appearances across all competitions.
His standout performance came during Plzen’s 2–1 UEFA Europa League win over AS Roma, a goal that put him on the radar of several top European clubs.
Interest in Durosinmi reportedly came from Benfica, Lazio, Stuttgart, and several English sides, including West Ham United.
However, Pisa acted swiftly to secure the Nigerian striker, reaching agreements with both player and club to strengthen their attacking options.
Record-Breaking Move: Pisa Secure Top Nigerian Talent
Durosinmi’s transfer to Pisa is now the most expensive in the club’s history. Plzen reportedly received €11 million, plus additional add-ons, and the Nigerian striker signed a four-year deal running until 2030.
Despite Pisa currently struggling in Serie A — with just one win, nine losses, and nine draws this season — Durosinmi’s arrival is seen as a major boost for the club’s ambitions.
He will join Inter Milan loanee and Super Eagles midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro as Pisa looks to climb the standings.
This move gives Rafiu Durosinmi the opportunity to display his talent in one of Europe’s top five leagues while continuing his upward trajectory in professional football.
