Egyptian magician – Mo Salah produced a man-of-the-match performance to help Liverpool hammer Aston Villa 3-1 during their Premier League game on Monday evening.

In their first game after the World Cup break, Liverpool defeated Aston Villa, despite a valiant attempt from the home side in the second half that saw no less than seven shots in total.

The Reds put in the work in the first half, and the second half saw them use their two-goal lead to push their opponents aside aggressively.

Mohamed Salah fired the Reds ahead barely five minutes into the game before Van Dijk doubled the lead 32 minutes later.

Mohamed Salah (125 goals & 50 assists) has become just the second player to both score 50+ goals and assist 50+ goals for Liverpool in the Premier League after Steven Gerrard (120 goals & 92 assists). Greats.

The hosts appeared to be taking a chance when Watkins pulled one back, but Klopp’s team’s fierce counterattacks could only restore the two-goal margin when Stefan Bajčetić scored his first Premier League goal.

Just two minutes after the youngster was introduced, he grabbed his goal.

With the victory, Liverpool is now briefly within one point of Manchester United in fifth place, while Aston Villa remains in 12th.

Aston Villa’s situation doesn’t improve, as they now have to travel to play Tottenham on January 1 while Liverpool stays at home to welcome Leicester City on December 30.
