Super Eagles hopeful, Emmanuel Fernandez put out a solid shift on Sunday, finding the back of the net once again to rescue his team Rangers from a huge disappointment when the faced Livingston in the Scottish Premiership.

Livingston took an early lead through Brooklyn Kabongolo’s free-kick finish before Lewis Smith doubled the advantage in the second half with a well-placed shot across goal.

Rangers struggled initially but improved after making attacking substitutions and increased pressure in the closing stages.

Fernandez pulled one back in the 82nd minute, scoring with a powerful close-range finish following chaos inside the box from a long throw-in.

The goal marked his sixth across all competitions this season.

His effort boosted Rangers’ momentum, and the comeback was completed in the 88th minute when Mikey Moore equalised from a cross by captain James Tavernier.

Internationally, Fernandez has expressed interest in representing Nigeria but is yet to receive an official call-up.

However, the draw was enough for Fernandez and his teammates to extend their unbeaten run to six games — three wins and three draws.

They will now prepare to face Kelechi Iheanacho and his Celtic side on Sunday as they look to close the gap on league leaders Hearts, who are currently four points ahead of them.

Meanwhile, in the Cypriot First Division, Peter Olayinka made a decisive impact off the bench, scoring the winner to secure a crucial victory for APOEL Nicosia against Omonia Nicosia.

Introduced with 19 minutes remaining as a replacement for Nicolas Koutsakos, the striker needed less than ten minutes to find the net, calmly slotting home his first goal for the club.

Recall that Olayinka joined APOEL on a free transfer, agreeing to stay until May 2026.

The Nigerian forward was released by Red Star Belgrade four months ago and is now looking to revive his career after a period without playing.

Throughout his career, he has featured for clubs across Albania, Northern Cyprus, Belgium, and the Czech Republic.
