Super Falcons prospect Edna Imade continued her fine form in the Spanish Liga F on Saturday afternoon, scoring again but unable to prevent Real Sociedad from falling to a narrow 2-1 home defeat against UD Tenerife.
The 24-year-old forward has now scored in back-to-back matches for Sociedad, with this being her second goal of the season in just four appearances since joining the club, Footballrover reports.
Edna Imade Keeps Scoring Despite Sociedad’s Setback
Imade’s strike came in the 35th minute, pulling her side back into the contest after the visitors had stormed to a two-goal lead.
The Nigerian forward’s instinctive finish briefly gave Sociedad hope, but it wasn’t enough to overturn Tenerife’s early advantage.
Tenerife took control of the game inside the opening 22 minutes. Sakina Ouzraoui broke the deadlock in the 12th minute with a sharp finish, and Natalia Ramos doubled the lead from the penalty spot just ten minutes later.
Despite Sociedad’s spirited push in the second half—led by Imade’s energy and work rate—Tenerife’s defence held firm, securing all three points and ending Sociedad’s five-match unbeaten streak (four wins and a draw).
Next Test for Edna Imade and Sociedad
In their previous meeting with Tenerife, Sociedad suffered a 4-1 defeat.
Nevertheless, despite this setback, the home side still sits third in the table with 13 points from six matches.
Still, the Basque side remains third in the Liga F table with 13 points from six matches.
Imade and her teammates will now aim to bounce back in their next fixture, a much-anticipated clash against her former club Granada, where she will be eager to maintain her scoring streak.
