“We Are Here to Hunt” – Zambia Coach Eyes WAFCON 2024 Shock
As the 2024 WAFCON enters its thrilling phase, the Copper Queens coach believes her team is peaking at the right time.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference in Casablanca, Häuptle shared good news with fans: star midfielder Grace Chanda is back from suspension and ready to feature, while Xiomara Mapepa has been medically released.

“My team is ready for the quarterfinal. We had a good evolution through the group stages where we were unbeaten. We are excited to enter the knockout stage. It feels a bit like a final already, Zambia against Nigeria. I think for all of us, I hope it will be a very entertaining game,” she said.
With the Super Falcons entering the fixture as the favourites, the Zambia coach knows her team must be relentless.
“Of course, we are here to hunt. We respect that Nigeria is a several-time winner of this tournament. I think they are in the role of the favourite in this game. But I can assure you that my team is very hungry.”

Quarterfinal Showdown: Copper Queens vs Super Falcons
The Nigerian female side is the most successful team in the tournament’s history, but Zambia’s rise has captured attention.
This quarterfinal is more than just a match—it’s a test of belief, strategy, and boldness.
Zambia will take on Nigeria at 5 PM this Friday at Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, with a ticket to the semifinals hanging in the balance.
