The FIFA Club World Cup saw a dramatic exit for both FC Porto and Al Ahly in an incredible 4-4 draw, but Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi was left on the sidelines, an unused substitute once again.

This nail-biting match, played in the sweltering New Jersey heat, marked the end of the road for both clubs in Group A, despite delivering a goal-fest that kept fans entertained from start to finish, Footballrover reports.
Zaidu Sanusi’s sideline story at FC Porto
The Nigerian international remained rooted to the bench throughout FC Porto’s entire Club World Cup campaign, failing to feature in any of their three Group A encounters.

Must have been a bitter taste for the defender, especially as the Portuguese giants battled hard for survival in the tournament.
The 4-4 draw against Al Ahly was a high-class affair, with both teams desperate for a win to progress, but neither could secure it, ultimately leading to their simultaneous elimination.
Porto’s eight-goal Club World Cup clash

The thrilling contest saw Al Ahly open the scoring, quickly followed by Porto’s equaliser.
The goals just kept coming, with three goals incredibly scored in as many minutes early in the second half.
Despite both sides fighting relentlessly, with a spectacular hat-trick from Abou Ali for Al Ahly and stunning strikes for Porto, the constant back-and-forth meant neither could pull ahead decisively.

The 89th-minute equaliser from Pepe for Porto sealed the 4-4 draw, a result that brought heartbreak and an early Club World Cup exit for both teams.
