In a midweek clash at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium, Otubanjo’s only goal proved decisive, propelling his team to a hard-fought 1-0 win, Footballrover reports.

Otubanjo Breaks the Deadlock

The first half was a cagey affair, with neither side able to convert their chances. However, Otubanjo broke the deadlock in the 56th minute, ensuring Pyunik secured all three points.

This goal marked Otubanjo’s return to scoring form after a three-game drought since his last goal-saving performance against Noah in March.

Maintaining Goal-Scoring Form

This goal marks Otubanjo’s 14th of the season, adding to his impressive tally from last season.

In their last campaign, the Nigerian forward displayed his scoring prowess with a comparable goal tally for Pyunik.

The 31-year-old forward has become a key player for Pyunik, despite picking up seven yellow cards in his 23 league appearances.

Pyunik Aims to Extend Lead

The win keeps Otubanjo and his teammates firmly in first place as they continue to maintain their dominance at the top of the Armenian Premier League table, 29 points clear of their sixth-placed hosts after 29 rounds of matches.

Looking ahead, Pyunik will look to extend their lead at the top of the table when they face Ararat-Armenia on Sunday, aiming to maintain their winning momentum.
