In a highly competitive Matchday 12 contest, Otubanjo’s quick double in the first half was enough to lead his team to a 2-1 win at the Football Academy Stadium, Footballrover reports.

But the game was far from over as Pyunik’s defence faced immense pressure from the hosts until the final whistle.

The Nigerian striker, who has been in superb form this season, opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, slotting in a well-placed shot to give Pyunik the lead.

His 2-minute brace seemed to set the tone for the rest of the match, but BKMA’s Argishti Petrosyan quickly pulled one back before halftime, making it a tense affair.

Coming off a solid 3-1 away win over Van in their previous match, Pyunik continued their winning form, with Otubanjo leading the charge.

Although the second half didn’t produce more goals, it was a tactical battle with both sides pushing for control.

In the 73rd minute, Yusuf Otubanjo picked up a yellow card for a reckless challenge and was substituted shortly after, making way for Edgar Malakyan.

However, Otubanjo’s contributions had already secured Pyunik’s fourth consecutive win, sealing their position in the upper tier of the league table.

His compatriot, Sani Buhari, also made a late contribution, coming on as a second-half substitute to help the team maintain their lead.

The victory lifted Pyunik to third place in the league standings, just four points behind league leaders Urartu, who have played one more match.

With momentum firmly on their side, Pyunik will now turn their attention to their next fixture against Van at the Junior Sport Stadium, hoping to close the gap at the top.
