After 16 years, Fulham finally crushed Chelsea in the Premier League, thanks to their former star man – Willian, who found back of the net to help his side humble their 10-man neighbours.
After suffering back-to-back losses to Manchester City the previous week, Graham Potter and his Boys traveled a short distance to face Marco Silva’s team, who have had a successful comeback to the Premier League.
Willian got the opportunity to play his previous team, and he was keen to give the white side of west London another victory and increase the pressure on Potter.
Willian did, however, acknowledge before the game that he would not celebrate should he score against a team he gave his all to.
The 34-year-old scored against his former team Chelsea in the west London derby to make his mark, but he also fulfilled his pledge.

The Brazilian scored after just 25 minutes of play, but instead of celebrating, he took a moment to wave at the Fulham supporters.
While speaking after the game, Willian said;
“We deserved the win. We know how difficult it is to play against Chelsea. They are in a difficult moment but we are a really good team. We deserved it and we have to carry on. I had an amazing seven years at Chelsea. I have a big respect for the fans and the club. I play for Fulham now and have to do my best. It was a special night.”
During his seven-year stay at Stamford Bridge, the ex-Chelsea winger made over 330 appearances and won the Premier League twice, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, and the Europa League.
Before leaving Stamford Bridge in 2020 to join Arsenal, Willian established a reputation among the supporters.
Willian has now featured in 12 games and been one of many outstanding performers for Fulham with two goals and three assists, including a beautiful cross for Mitrovic’s game-winning goal against Leicester City,
“Let’s keep going, all honour and all glory be given to my Lord Jesus.” – Willian wrote on his Facebook page.
