William Agada notched his first MLS goal of the season during the thrilling five-goal showdown where his team, Sporting Kansas City, faced off against the LA Galaxy at the Children’s Mercy Park on Saturday.
Despite Agada propelling his team to a 2-0 lead with a first-half strike, Sporting Kansas City suffered a narrow 2-3 defeat as the Galaxy orchestrated a remarkable comeback, Footballrover reports.
The matchday 5 clash kicked off with Agada and his teammates displaying promising form, highlighted by Nemanja Radoja’s 34th-minute opener, followed by Agada’s goal just before halftime.
However, the Galaxy, displaying resilience, staged an extraordinary turnaround in the second half.
Within just 8 minutes, the visitors stunned the home crowd with three successive goals courtesy of Eriq Zavaleta, Dejan Joveljić, and Marco Delgado in the 72nd, 75th, and 80th minutes, respectively.
LA Galaxy’s solid defence held on to seal the deal, securing a valuable three points.
Despite the setback, the 24-year-old Nigerian forward, William Agada, showcased his prowess with 90 minutes of play and over 8 shots attempted and two chances created, finally finding the mark once.
With this breakthrough, Agada aims to capitalise on the momentum in their upcoming fixture against Toronto on Sunday.
Following the dramatic 2-3 turnaround victory, LA Galaxy remains unbeaten after 5 matchdays, while Sporting Kansas City sits in 9th place with six points from five league games, trailing the Galaxy by a mere three points in 2nd place.
