Captain Wilfred Ndidi and his Leicester City side faced a challenging preseason test as they were narrowly defeated 2-1 by League One side, Peterborough United, in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday.

The match saw the Nigerian duo of Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho in action, providing a glimpse of their skill and determination for the upcoming season.
Their commitment to the club was on full display as they showcased their abilities, although they couldn’t prevent their team from succumbing to a tight loss.
The game kicked off with both teams fielding different lineups in each half. Peterborough United took an early lead in the third minute when Kwame Poku finished with precision following an impressive move involving Ephron Mason-Clark and Kai Corbett.
Mason-Clark came close to extending the lead, but Leicester’s goalkeeper, Jakub Stolarzyk, made a remarkable save.
Leicester City fought back, and just before halftime, Ricardo Pereira equalized to bring the score level.
In the second half, Ndidi assumed the captaincy role, taking over from England striker Jamie Vardy, who was substituted at halftime.
Four minutes into the half, Ndidi had an opportunity to give his team the lead, but his shot was expertly saved by Peterborough United’s goalkeeper.
As the game neared its conclusion, Joe Tomlinson found the back of the net with a deflected effort, sealing the victory for Peterborough United with only eight minutes remaining.
Kelechi Iheanacho showcased his form for the Foxes and came close to scoring the equalizer with a free kick that struck the woodwork.

The last meeting between these two sides resulted in a resounding 5-1 victory for Leicester City in the FA Cup, with Iheanacho bagging two goals and Ndidi sealing the win with a late strike.
Leicester City’s next preseason fixture is scheduled against Northampton Town on Saturday, July 15.
As they prepare for the Championship campaign following their relegation last season, the Foxes aim to bounce back alongside Southampton and Leeds United.
Their Championship journey commences with a home game against Coventry City on August 8.
