The management of Rivers United football club in Port Harcourt has obtained a fully equipped ambulance in order to respond to any emergency crisis within the club.
Barrister Chris Green, the club’s sole administrator, revealed that the ambulance supplied by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
In an exclusive interview with the club’s media soon before the team’s departure to Okigwe for NPFL matchday 13 vs Abia Warriors, Barrister Chris noted that the ambulance will provide supportive service when needed.
According to him;
“The wellbeing of the players and officials of the club remain a top priority to the sponsors of the club, the Rivers State Government through our number one supporter Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, GSSRS, POS (Africa), Executive Governor Rivers State. You know football is a contact sport and the need to respond to emergency situation caused by injury warranted the acquisition of this fully equipped ambulance.β
After a collision in Rivers United’s last home encounter versus Wikki Tourist, the Ambulance was brought in to help two players who had suffered head injuries.
The ambulance will not only be used during home games, but will also be present at every training session and accompany the squad to away games.

With 25 points from 12 games this season, the Pride of Rivers are now in first place in the NPFL standings.
