Enyimba FC, the reigning Nigeria Premier League champions, have set a staggering price tag of ₦450,000,000 (€500,000) for their star striker, Emeka Obioma.

After securing their ninth league title recently, Enyimba FC is determined to retain their key players to strengthen their chances of dominating the continent next season.

However, the 22-year-old forward has expressed his intention to explore other opportunities as his contract approaches its expiration date.

Enyimba’s Premier League Triumph:

Enyimba FC claimed the Nigeria Premier League title two weeks ago, emerging victorious from the Super Six playoffs in Lagos State.

The team garnered nine points, tying with Remo Stars and Rivers United. Enyimba FC secured the championship due to their superior goal aggregates.

A significant contributor to their success was Chukwuemeka Obioma, who scored an impressive 16 goals in over 20 matches throughout the season.

Golden Boot Winner:

Chukwuemeka Obioma’s exceptional performance led him to clinch the prestigious 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier League Golden Boot award.

With the highest number of goals in the league, the forward proved his prowess on the field. Notably, Obioma made history as the first and only player to score a league hat-trick in a home fixture.

Interest from Other Clubs:

Several clubs from Nigeria, Africa, and Europe have expressed their interest in acquiring Chukwuemeka Obioma.

Currently, Zamalek from the Egyptian Premier League appears to be leading the race for his signature.

Despite the club’s desire to retain Obioma, the forward has shown no inclination towards signing a contract extension.

It suggests his eagerness to explore new opportunities once his contract expires in the summer.

A top club official, speaking to npflupdates, stated;

“We don’t want to allow him (Emeka) to leave the club because we want to get back to the continent and dominate. But it seems he doesn’t want an extension, so we can allow him to go. However, potential buyers must demonstrate serious intent.”

Price Tag and Future Prospects:

In light of the situation, Enyimba FC is now open to offers for Chukwuemeka Obioma, with a hefty price tag of €500,000.

The former CAF Champions League winners recognize the value of their star striker and expect potential buyers to exhibit genuine interest.

Enyimba FC aims to kickstart their journey towards continental dominance later this year, in August.
