Raheem Sterling is having a great start to his new life at Chelsea, making good of his leadership role with his first goal and a brace afterwards as the Blues cruise past Leicester City during their Premier League game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Former Man City star – Sterling had the best rating of 8.9 after the match and was obviously the star man of the match after netting two beautiful goals to help the Thomas Tuchel side to their second win of the new campaign.

Chelsea almost had another terrible outing against Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi’s side after their 3-0 lose to Leeds United last weekend.

But the 10-man Chelsea managed to go 2-0 up through Raheem Sterling’s brace and survived Leicester’s late fightback at the end of the final whistle.

Fortunately for the Blues, their new signing – Raheem Sterling came to the rescue after the first half had them reduced to ten men when Gallagher received a red card and the second half had them in spades.

Nearly as soon as the second half began, Sterling opened the scoring and quickly doubled Chelsea’s advantage in 67th minute of the game.

However, with Barnes’ outstanding goal bringing Leicester back into the game, it was all Leicester from that point on, but despite their best efforts, they were unable to equalize for Chelsea.

Given how creative Tielemans was for the Foxes in the second half, if Leicester were to have equalized, it probably would have been through him.

The Belgian finished with two blocked shots, six crucial passes, two effective crosses, and six tackles. At times, he was unstoppable.

With 46 forward passes in Chelsea’s half, he had the most of any Leicester player in terms of duels won (77.2%) as well.

Chelsea, who are currently ranked sixth in the rankings, overcame a 3-0 setback to Leeds thanks to that narrow victory.

Despite their best attempts late in the game, Leicester is still winless and will plummet to the bottom of the standings if West Ham wins their next match.

There are worrying indicators for the Foxes, but with the fight and character they displayed in their pursuit of an equalizer, they should be alright.
