West Ham United have stepped into the January transfer market with an opening move for Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi, submitting a €6.5 million offer to Czech side Viktoria Plzeň.

The bid signals growing Premier League interest in the 23-year-old forward, who has been one of Plzeň’s standout players this season, Footballrover reports.

West Ham’s proposal is understood to fall well short of Viktoria Plzeň’s €14 million valuation, leading to an immediate rejection.

Talks are expected to continue, with the London club keen to test Plzeň’s resolve as the window progresses.

Rafiu Durosinmi is currently valued at €6.5 million on Transfermarkt and has delivered 13 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions.

His physical presence, movement in the box, and ability to score in different competitions have made him an attractive option for clubs searching for attacking depth.

Rafiu Durosinmi Form Attracts Wider European Interest

West Ham are not alone in tracking the Nigerian forward. Portuguese giants Benfica are also reported to be monitoring Rafiu Durosinmi, with a potential move under consideration later in the window.

The striker ended 2025 on a strong note, scoring in Viktoria Plzeň’s 2–0 league win over Dukla Praha.

He closed the year with seven league goals from 18 appearances, contributing across multiple fronts.

His season tally includes two goals in the Czech Cup, two in the UEFA Champions League, and another two in the Europa League, underlining his consistency at a higher level.

Despite his club form, Rafiu Durosinmi is still waiting for his first senior Super Eagles call-up.

He featured in Eric Chelle’s provisional 54-man squad but did not make the final list for AFCON 2025, where Nigeria have reached the knockout stage.

With West Ham testing the waters and Benfica watching closely, Durosinmi’s future could become one of the more interesting stories of the January window.
