The headline news sees experienced Nigeria international Semi Ajayi among those set to depart when their contracts expire on June 30th.

Ajayi’s five-year stint with West Brom comes to an end after a challenging, injury-marred campaign.

Unfortunately, the centre-back missed a significant 29 Championship matches, alongside cup ties against Fleetwood Town and Bournemouth.

After spending over two months on the sidelines, the 31-year-old had a bittersweet farewell, coming off the bench for the final 37 minutes of the season following an injury to Kyle Bartley.

The 39-cap Super Eagles star initially joined the Championship side from Rotherham United in 2019 and went on to make an impressive 177 appearances for the club, starting in 147 of those games.

He also contributed 13 goals during his time in the Midlands, including memorable strikes against Premier League giants Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In brighter news for the club, particularly with a Nigerian connection, The Baggies have offered new deals to three promising forwards within their academy ranks, all of Nigerian descent: Eseosa Sule, Dan Chimeziri, and Divine Onyemachi.

Sule, who previously played in Celtic’s youth system, made his first professional appearance last season, coming on as a substitute for the final 18 minutes of a Carabao Cup match against Fleetwood Town.
