Nigeria’s U-20 women’s football team, the Falconets, continued their brilliant run and high goal-scoring form today at the on-going WAFU B Women’s U-20 Football Championship in Ghana.
Falconets defeated Togo 6-0 in the second match played at Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi, Ghana, with Amara Bello and Flourish Sabastine scoring a brace for the team.
The Falconets scored three goals within the first thirty minutes of the first half, with Amara Bello, Flourish Sabastine, and Esther Onyenezide, respectively, scoring the first, second, and third goals in the 11th, 12th, and 30th minutes of the half.
Diminutive Esther Onyenezide’s goal came through a spot kick after a Falconets attacker was hacked down inside the Togolese eighteen-yard box.
Amara Bello and Flourish Sabastine, respectively, scored their braces against the Togolese U-20 Women’s team in the 50th and 76th minutes of the second half for the Falconets fourth and sixth goals of the match.
Esther Opeyemi Ajakaye scored the fifth goal for the Falconets in the 61st minute of the second half of the match.

With a total of 13 goals and 6 points in two matches against the Niger Republic and Togo, the Falconets will now play their last group match on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Paa Joe Stadium, Kumasi, Ghana,by 4:00 p.m. Nigerian time.
