Nigeria’s U-20 women’s team, the Falconets, on Sunday defeated Burkina Faso 3-0 in the last group match of the WAFU B Women’s U-20 football championship played at Paa Joe Stadium, Kumasi, Ghana.
Nigeria ended her group matches with a 100 percent record after earlier victories against two other West African opponents, the Niger Republic (7-0) and Togo (6-0).
Esther Ajakaye scored a brace in the two halves of the match for Falconets first two goals, while Flourish Sabastine added the third in the second half to end the match 3-0 in favor of Falconets.
Esther Ajakaye scored a hat-trick against the Niger Republic in the first match of the championship, while Flourish Sabastine scored a brace against Togo in the second match.
The Falconets sealed the semi-final ticket with nine points after three resounding victories against their sub-regional opponents.
The Falconets will meet Benin U-20 Women’s team in the semi-final stage of the competition at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi.
