Victor Osimhen currently leads the Italian league in goals scored this season with 23 and needed to grab more to be assured of the golden boot as Lautaro Martinez is in second place with 20.

The Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, was seen complaining about Luciano Spalletti’s decision to substitute him against Inter Milan.

The Parthenopeans won their first Serie A trophy in 30 years courtesy of a crucial goal from Osimhen against Verona and an outstanding penalty kick against Fiorentina to seal the league title at the Diego Maradona Stadium.

The Nigerian superstar, who just recently surpassed George Weah’s 23-year-old mark for the highest goal scored by an African, hopes to break the record again, but Spalletti replaced him barely nine minutes after the hour mark.

The Gli Azzurri took the lead in the 67th minute thanks to Andre Zambo Anguissa, who scored after numerous tries to overcome the 2022–23 UEFA Champions League finalist.

Osimhen, who has scored 23 goals in the domestic league, was, however, substituted just two minutes after the goal, and his Italian manager’s decision caused him apparent annoyance.

In a video footage that was shared on social media, the 24-year-old striker questioned his coach, asking why he had taken him off so early in the game.

The Nigerian is reportedly trying everything in his power to score the most goals in the league, with Lautaro Martinez presently trailing him with 20 goals.

His fury is obvious given his two-game goalless drought.

The Nigerian believes that even if Napoli loses games, the squad still has little to lose and that he has ample opportunity to effortlessly expand his goal advantage.

The Nigerian attacker still has a chance to score, though, as Napoli hosts Sampdoria for their penultimate game at the Diego Maradona stadium before traveling to take on Bologna.
