Former Turkish referee Ahmet Çakar has joined the growing list of admirers who can’t stop singing the praises of Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian striker, currently lighting up the Turkish Super Lig with Galatasaray, was described as the engine powering the club’s domestic dominance, Footballrover reports.
With six league matches to go, Galatasaray sit five points clear of José Mourinho’s Fenerbahce and are also in the Turkish Cup final.
Osimhen’s recent goal against Konyaspor has brought him within touching distance of his personal best of 31 goals in a single season—set during the 2022–23 campaign with Napoli.
But according to Çakar, the stats don’t tell the full story. What truly sets Osimhen apart are the qualities that make him a “complete forward”.
Mentality and aerial power among top Victor Osimhen traits
Çakar was quick to highlight Osimhen’s fierce mentality—especially his visible frustration when being substituted.
“He gets angry even when he is coming off the game. ‘Why did you take me off?’ he says,” the former referee noted on the BTV YouTube channel.
The striker’s attitude reflects a hunger to dominate, a trait rarely seen with such intensity.
Add to that his incredible aerial presence, and you start to understand why Çakar boldly claimed,
“Osimhen means half of Galatasaray.” These standout traits make him a nightmare for defenders and a dream for any coach.
Athleticism, technique, and charisma complete the trait set
Beyond his mentality and heading ability, Çakar listed four more Victor Osimhen traits that round out his elite profile: athleticism, speed, technical shooting ability, and likability.
“He is very athletic, good with his head, has great kicking technique, is fast, likeable, and above all, human,” he said.
It’s this unique combination that has made Osimhen nearly unstoppable in Turkey.
Whether he’s scoring goals or creating them, his impact has put Galatasaray above their rivals. And yet, there’s a looming question: will they be able to keep him?
As Napoli prepare to recall and potentially sell Victor Osimhen early in the summer transfer window, Çakar voiced what many Galatasaray fans fear:
“Osimhen will make Galatasaray champions, but I don’t know if he’ll stay.” A move to England or Spain is very much on the cards.
“He’s the type of player who can destroy teams there,” the ex-referee added.
Still, for now, Galatasaray has a weapon unmatched in the Super Lig.
And with all six Victor Osimhen traits firing at once, the ‘complete forward’ may yet deliver a season that Turkish fans won’t forget anytime soon.
