Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has reached a remarkable milestone in his career, netting his 100th club goal during Napoli’s clash against Sassuolo on Sunday.
The talented Super Eagles player kickstarted Napoli’s triumph with the opening goal, propelling his team to their second victory of the new season.
Osimhen’s prowess as a goal-scorer has been evident over the years, as he has now notched an impressive tally of 100 club goals across 192 appearances.
Among these striking achievements, he contributed an impressive 61 goals in 102 matches for Napoli.
He also found the back of the net 18 times in 38 appearances for Lille in the French Ligue 1 and scored 20 times in 36 games while playing for RSC Charleroi in Belgium.
The 24-year-old continued his impressive run from the previous season, securing a brace in their season opener just last Saturday.
Napoli, determined to defend their title, faced a fresh challenge at the Stadio Maradona and emerged victorious with a convincing 2-0 win against Sassuolo.
The first half was relatively uneventful, culminating with the reigning Scudetto champions in the lead thanks to Osimhen’s early penalty.
Throughout the game, Osimhen led the charge in every Napoli attack, displaying the confidence of a seasoned player as he smoothly converted his penalty for his 100th club goal just 16 minutes into the match.

The victory was sealed by Di Lorenzo’s goal in the 64th minute.
Following their triumphant performance against newly promoted Frosinone in Serie A’s opening weekend, Napoli maintained their winning streak against their opponents.
Conversely, Sassuolo experienced defeat against Atalanta in their inaugural match of the season, marking back-to-back losses now for the team.
