Former Super Eagles forward Odion Ighalo has weighed in on Victor Osimhen’s ongoing transfer saga, calling him one of the top strikers in the world and urging fans to respect African talents.
Is Victor Osimhen the top striker in the world? Ighalo thinks so
Speaking to News Central TV, Ighalo, who once played for Al-Hilal, revealed he would support a Saudi move for Osimhen if asked, Footballrover reports.

He acknowledged the Napoli star’s mental strength and perseverance through challenges.
“He knows what he wants. He’s worked hard to get here,” Ighalo said. “If he asks me, I’ll say go. But whatever he chooses, it’s a win.”
Osimhen reportedly turned down a lucrative €40 million offer from Al-Hilal, preferring to keep his options open in Europe.
The 26-year-old striker, recently on loan at Galatasaray, continues to draw interest despite wage demands that have stalled talks with top European clubs.
Ighalo slams bias against African players
Beyond transfer talk, Ighalo delivered a passionate defense of Osimhen’s quality and legacy.

“If you mention two strikers in the world and don’t call his name, it’s impossible,” he said. “We underrate our African players.”
He praised Osimhen’s mental strength and resilience, calling him one of the most sought-after goalscorers globally.
As the summer window unfolds, Osimhen’s next move remains uncertain—but one thing is clear: in Ighalo’s eyes, Victor Osimhen is already among the best strikers in world football.
