Galatasaray fans held their breath in a tense Turkish Super Lig encounter, but Victor Osimhen once again proved to be the difference-maker.
The Super Eagles striker delivered a crucial brace, including a late winner, to secure a 2-1 victory over Rizespor on Monday night at the Çaykur Didi Stadyumu, Footballrover reports.
The match wasn’t just about Osimhen’s brilliance—it was an all-Nigerian affair.
Babajide David set up Rizespor’s only goal, recording his fifth assist of the season, while Ibrahim Olawoyin put in a full 90-minute shift for the hosts.
Victor Osimhen brace lifts Galatasaray amid high stakes
Galatasaray entered the clash desperate to bounce back from their humiliating 4-1 Europa League defeat to AZ Alkmaar.
However, the first half saw them struggling to break down a resolute Rizespor defence.
Just two minutes into the second half, Przemyslaw Frankowski delivered a pinpoint cross that evaded the goalkeeper, leaving Osimhen with the simplest of headers to give Galatasaray the lead.
The hosts responded quickly in the 54th minute when Babajide David teed up Ali Sowe, who slotted a composed finish past Fernando Muslera to level the score.
The game opened up as both sides pushed for a winner.

With time running out, Osimhen displayed his killer instinct once again.
In the 86th minute, he connected with a well-delivered corner, sending a powerful header off the inside of the post to seal all three points for Galatasaray.
The victory extends Galatasaray’s lead at the top of the Turkish Super Lig, putting them six points clear of second-placed Fenerbahce.
Osimhen, now with 24 goal contributions in 24 matches, has 14 league goals and four assists, along with five goals and one assist in the Europa League.
Galatasaray now shift focus to a crucial Europa League second-leg clash against AZ Alkmaar before a potential title-decider against fierce rivals Fenerbahce.
With Osimhen in top form, the Istanbul giants remain firmly on course for domestic glory.
